Zorb is a specialised, high-performance, non-woven absorbent fabric designed to be used as the hidden, inner layer in reusable products. To name a few: cloth diapers, menstrual pads, pet pads, and nursing pads.
Created to be thin, hypoallergenic, chemical free and amazingly absorbent. Designed to absorbe fluids quickly and hold a large quanitity of said liquids, making Zorb a useful, cost effective solution to a wide range of products that require holding power and absorbency.
The absorbency coes from using a unique fiber composition that allows the fabric capture, rapidly distribute and finally hold the fluids to reduce compression leaks.
There are a few different types of Zorb: Original, 3D (Diamonds and Dimples), 4D and Mircofibre Terry.
Below are some craft ideas for Zorb (some you may not have even thought about!):
Reusable Cloth Nappy
More eco-friendly and more comfortable than disposables.
We used the Zorb® 3D Organic Cotton Dimple for the insert, which absorbs 10 times its weight in under 2 seconds and soaks up 20 times faster than other material.
It has an unique, three-dimensional engineered dimple pattern provides greater retention, superior hold, faster distribution of moisture and less leaking under compression - perfect for nappies!
Reusable Cloth Menstrual Pad
Another eco-friendly swap!
Reusable menstrual products have risen in popularity in the last few years, and we have been making them for a long time. They are sustainable, eco-friendly, comfortable and you save money in the long run.
Again we used the Zorb® 3D Organic Cotton Dimple for great absorbency.

Sink Draining Mat
Zorb is perfect for this project, soaking up the excess water from your dishes.
For this one we used the Zorb® 4D Organic Cotton Dimple Waterproof PUL Soaker for the back side to be waterproof and not absorb extra fabric from the counter below.
Travel Changing Mat
This travel changing mat is far softer and more durable than the ones you find at the shop.
Plus you get to choose which cotton and design you'd like!
Again, we used the Zorb® 4D Organic Cotton Dimple Waterproof PUL Soaker - the PUL waterproof backing is great for reducing mess from any accidents.
Pet Pee Mat
Perfect for travelling with pets, or adding to the bottom of their cages and crates.
We just used the Zorb® Original, but if you wanted to add more waterproofing you could used the PUL backed 4D.
Coasters
Quilted coasters are great for insulating your mugs against surfaces and soaking up all spills.
We created one (pumpkin) with Zorb Original and one (owl) with Zorb® 4D Organic Cotton Dimple Waterproof PUL Soaker. Both work super well, however the latter is slightly more waterproof.
iPad Sleeve
A very random one!
We used Zorb Original for the inner padding of the sleeve, rather than wadding, as we found it much easier to work with. And it tuned out fab! Great protection of the screen, plus a good back up for any spills in the bag.
