How To Make An Ice Lolly Holder

Yay, summer weather had arrived in England!

This week we made this incredibly easy ice lolly holders - fab for little hands that get cold quickly.

Take a look at how we made this below:

What you will need:

• TEMPLATE
  16cm x 12cm.

• COTTON
  For the outer layer - we chose Fabricsaurus Blue Cotton Fabric.

• COTTON FLANNEL
  For the inner layer - we chose pink.

• CUTTING BOARD
  For a flat surface you can cut on.

• SCISSORS
  To cut fabric.

• PINKING SHEARS
  To cut fabric.

• FABRIC MARKER
  To around edges of project.

• PINS
  To pin fabric to prevent it moving.

• THREAD
  You might want to choose a neutral white, or match the thread to your fabric.

• TAPE MEASURE
  To measure fabric and template.

• SEWING MACHINE

Step 1: Draw around template

Place the cotton back sides facing, draw around template.

Step 2: Cut out fabric

Pin first. Using fabric scissors or rotary cutter.

Step 3: Fold fabric in half

Lengthwise. Cotton on top. Pin.

Step 4: Sew around edges

Along one short edge and the open long edge, using a sewing machine.

Step 5: Cut around edges with pinking shears

Along sewn long edge and both short edges. Do not cut stitches.

Things to note: 

• Washing machine safe.
• Can be made smaller or larger.
