How To Make Reusable Kitchen Roll

April 12, 2024
How To Make Reusable Kitchen Roll

We are back with another Sustainable Swap!

This week we are creating Reusable Kitchen Roll / Towel.

In our house, we use these for everything - bye bye paper towels.

By adding snaps to your pieces, you can create a whole roll, which you can pop onto your kitchen roll holder.

Choose a theme, using the same fabric for each piece, or use your scraps and make a mix and match roll.

Take a look at what we used, and what steps we took to create this project.

What you will need:

  • TEMPLATE
    Cut out a 22cm x 21cm template
  • SCISSORS OR ROTARY CUTTER
To cut out template and cut fabric.

  • PINS
You might want to secure your fabric when sewing to stop slipping.
  • CUTTING BOARD
For a flat surface you can cut on.

  • THREAD
You might want to choose a neutral white, or match the thread to your cotton.
  • GLUE
    To stop edges from fraying
  • SERGER MACHINE
  • SHARP TOOL
To make holes for the snaps

Step 1: Create template

We chose 22cm x 21cm.

Step 2: Place template on back of cotton, draw around

We suggest just using the template for the cotton.

Step 3: Cut out fabric

With scissors or rotary cutter.

Step 4: Layer fabric - pattern side of cotton facing up

Pin.
